Please join us for Sunday Service on January 11 at 10:30am for week two of our sermon series Who Are You? | Connect with Your Belovedness!
On this second Sunday of Epiphany, we are given the opportunity to remember our baptism and the voice of God, who proclaims, “You are my beloved.” Contrary to popular belief, baptism is not a sign of a believer’s faithfulness, but a sign of God’s. We are immersed in God’s grace. We don’t “get our children”— or ourselves— baptized. Baptism isn’t something we do at all, but something God does. St. Augustine, in the 5th century described a sacrament as ‘an outward and visible sign of an inward and invisible grace.’ Join us this week as we look at both Isaiah 42:1-9 and Matthew 3:13-17.
