At Lynn Valley United Church, we support families from a holistic perspective, recognizing that our physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual lives are interconnected and contribute to both individual and community well-being.
We value intergenerational relationships and the important role they play in nurturing the lives of children, youth, and families. We believe that children possess a natural sense of wonder, spirituality, and connection - to themselves, to one another, and to the Spirit that unites all things. As adults and leaders, we seek to share the richness of our faith tradition while honouring and encouraging the unique gifts, questions, and insights that children bring to our community.
On Sunday mornings, children and youth begin worship alongside the wider congregation. One child often helps light the Christ Candle as worship begins, and together we sing, pray, greet one another, and share the peace. Following "Blanket Time," an all-ages story and reflection for the children that is led by the Minister, children continue their morning in a dedicated space where they explore the themes of worship through storytelling, music, art, games, and creative activities. Parents and caregivers are welcome to participate, particularly those with younger children.
Through worship, learning, and shared experiences, children and families are an important and valued part of the life of our community, and we hope you'll join us as we learn, grow, and journey together.
