"You changed my mourning into dancing. You took off my funeral clothes and dressed me up in joy so that my whole being might sing praises to you and never stop. Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever." - Psalm 30
Spectrum Mothers Support Society is an organization dedicated to "shining light into the lives of mothers when they need it most". This Sunday, we will have the opportunity to hear from Sally Livingstone, Founder and Director of this very special organization.
Spectrum Mothers Support Society serves mothers on the North Shore with children under the age of five. They give priority to low-income families (which may include teenage mothers and new immigrants) and mothers of children with disabilities, developmental delays, or behavioural challenges. Mothers are often dealing with physical or mental health issues, and they may also be suffering from postpartum depression, have left abusive relationships, or are dependent on drugs or alcohol.
Spectrum Mothers Support Society's Annual Fundraising Event will take place at LVUC on October 24. Join us at worship this week to hear more about the vital work they are doing in our shared community and how we can support them.
