Join us on November 29 for the kickoff of our Advent season with an “Angels Among Us” retreat.
Spend some time in worship preparing for the season and then engage in times of craft-making and decorating the church for the season. We will have lunch together as we have fun building community and preparing for the season. Advent is known as a time of ‘waiting’ but it cannot be a passive waiting–the kind of waiting that believes that God doesn’t need us in order to make the world a safer, better place for all people. This is the message that the angels who appear to Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds bring to us in this Advent series. They brings news, yes. But they also invite participation in the story. Let’s hear the Christmas story that invites us to bring more hope, more peace, more joy, and more love into the world.
