From November 9 to November 23 our community of faith will be participating in a stewardship campaign focused on how we are Called to Be the Church. We will share stories about why we give, how our generosity makes a difference here at Lynn Valley United Church, how we affect the community around us, and how, through the Mission & Service of the United Church, we respond to this call nationally and globally.
You will be receiving a stewardship packet from LVUC in the next few days. We encourage you and all members of your family to prayerfully consider your own reasons for giving and how you will respond to this call. We hope this will be a rich opportunity for you to reflect on the blessings of your life and how you can live out your own response.
A New Creed calls us to be the church: to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, and to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
We are called to follow in the way of Jesus as individuals, families, communities of faith, and as a denomination. We respond to this call and give to the ministry of Lynn Valley United Church because we participate in God's mission by contributing the gifts that God has entrusted to us. These gifts include our time, talents, skills, and material resources. By giving, you become a steward and disciple, responding with gratitude and generosity to God's grace in your life. Your contribution supports local mission and ministry, the care of the building, and the church's work at the local, national, and international levels. Your generosity helps transform and save lives, inspire meaning and purpose, and build a better world.
Join us week by week to hear the stories of how we are called in our worship and through a variety of learning opportunities.
On November 23, 2025 we will be collecting the commitment cards at church that were included in your stewardship packet and will be announcing the results. We also will be having a catered lunch to show appreciation for all that you do at Lynn Valley United Church.
With thanks and blessings,
Joe Catlin, Judith Clark and Roger Eastwood
