This is the week that Jesus travels the most difficult part of the human path of suffering. This is the week we are reminded that whatever suffering we have experienced on our own life's path, Jesus knows the pain. In the midst of all of it, he invites the disciples to a surprising turn in the face of violence and death; that in the navigating of our lives, the most important choice we can embrace is that of love, no matter what.
After the death of Good Friday, we wait. The morning brings grief, that turns to fear, and then to astonishment and joy. The message is clear; Jesus is not dead. And so we come together on Easter morning to meet the risen Christ, reminded once again that love and life overcome evil and death in the journey of faith.
Reminder to please bring the rocks that you have been carrying throughout Lent to service on Easter Sunday!
