Associate Minister Search Team News

The Search Team to seek a new Associate Minister has started work and is completing the formal training for this role. The Team members are Roger Eastwood (Chair), Kelly Jenner (Secretary), Shari Gardiner, Marilyn Mann, Dylan Swathbridge, and Mary Yan.

The primary responsibilities of the new Associate Minister will be to work collaboratively with the Lead Minister and with primary focus on children, youth and families, faith formation, spiritual practices, worship, pastoral care and community outreach. The formal job description was approved by the congregation back in September and has been posted on the United Church of Canada's website. It is now available for any accredited minister to apply to. It is anticipated that this search process will follow behind the Lead Minister search process by three to four weeks.

As the work entails personnel aspects, most Search Team activities must remain confidential. However, we will try to keep the congregation informed of our progress via regular announcements during Sunday Worship and in occasional eNews items. If, at any time, you have questions or suggestions related to this process, please contact any member of the Search Team and we will be pleased to address any issue. This includes suggestions for questions that may be asked of applicants during interviews. There is a form available for this latter purpose on the credenza in the narthex that we encourage you to complete so you can help ensure the best candidate possible is chosen.
