One of the things we are called to do in our spiritual practice is soul work. Soul work is the process where we dedicate ourselves to actively engage in moral, intellectual, and spiritual nurturing. It is a journey of reuniting with our true selves and a deeper connection with the divine. In soul work, we must commit ourselves to remove everything that eclipses our inner light and keeps us being stranded in despair, chaos, or hopelessness.

This week’s worship service is designed to begin or continue this work with you. We will examine the discourse between Jesus and his disciples on soul work in Luke 17. Together we will reflect on and unearth some of the meanings in the metaphor of the sycamine/mulberry tree and offences. This is very important because when we do soul work, we will see the following results in our lives.

ü  Greater self-care and love for self.

ü  Renewed sense of meaning in life.

ü  Empathy.

ü  Peace of mind and inner clarity.

ü  Stronger mind-body connection.

ü  Decrease in anxiety and depression.

ü  Increase in physical vitality.

ü  Identification of gifts and talents.
