Next Steps for the Interim Ministry Process

This message was given to LVUC on January 22, 2023 during the morning service.

We have been meeting with Kathy Davies our Regional Minister and she has proposed a set of next steps for the interim ministry process that we are entering.  The board has reviewed these next steps and is in unanimous agreement with these steps. The next step will be the creation of the transition team which will be a small sub-committee of the Board. This will be completed by January 27 and will include 3 members of our community of faith who have already agreed to be part of this team and two regional representatives Kathy Davies will appoint. It will include the interim ministry when one is appointed. Kathy Davies will meet with the transition team at their initial meeting to set up timelines and process.

Other things that will be coming out of this process in the near future will be a “listening process” and educational opportunities with Fresh Start. We will be providing more details on this shortly. The Board is reviewing and working on the strategic plan for our community of faith. Please help us and let your thoughts be known and complete the survey presently being circulated and submit it to the church office by January 29, 2023. Copies will be available by the back door this morning.  More information and input opportunities are coming.

M & P is still seeking an interim minister but has not found a candidate yet.
