As you may be aware, LVUC's Minister for Faith and Families, Reverend Eric Hamlyn, will be away from April 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024 on sabbatical. We are excited to announce that Reverend Donna Dinsmore will be joining us as of April 1, working 3/4 time at Lynn Valley United Church to provide coverage for Eric.

Donna has worked as an Intentional Transitional Minister or “regular” Minister in the United Church and other denominations for over a decade. She has also taught worship for years before that. Donna has had a lifelong interest in music and has been involved with choirs as a director or singer for a large part of her life. She will be working full-time from April 18 to May 10, providing coverage for Karen while she is on vacation. We look forward to Donna joining us for this four-month term.

In her “past lives”, Donna has worked in northern Maine potato fields, taught choral music in South Carolina public schools, and worked in United Churches as a Music Minister, Associate Minister, and Transitional Minister. She has masters’degrees in music education from the University of Illinois and Christian Studies from Regent College. Since ordination in the United Church in 2014, she has served on the North Shore (Mt. Seymour), in Bella Coola (2-point charge, Nuxalk, and Settler), in Edmonton (First Mennonite), in Calgary (Foothills Mennonite), in Richmond (Brighouse), and in Vancouver (Cambie Village).

Donna loves to integrate; from head and heart, to worship and music, to Christian spirituality and real life. She also loves her dog, Tucker. Donna is looking forward to being a part of the LVUC community until August 1.

Welcome to Lynn Valley United Church Donna!
