The Intergenerational March to commemorate Orange Shirt Day will be held  at the University of British Columbia Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre (IRSHDC) on September 30, 2023.

This event is led by Applied Science and Land and Food Systems and supported by the President's Office at UBC. No fees or registration required.  The following is their invite for you to join the March.

Join us for an intergenerational march to commemorate Orange Shirt Day. Members of the UBC community, families and those in solidarity are welcome to participate. The march is intergenerational, and aims to be educational and supportive to the Indigenous community on campus and beyond. Educational activities will allow younger participants to connect with the original inhabitants of the land and plant a seed to continue these conversations of a difficult era in Canadian history at home.

Time: 11:45 AM to 3:00 PM

Place: University of British Columbia Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre (IRSHDC)

Address: 1985 Learners' Walk, Vancouver BC V6T1Z1

Again a small step towards establishment of right relationships with Indigenous peoples is to hear their stories and experience their culture and this is another opportunity to do that. Please consider attending if possible.
