Join LVUC's Social Justice Committee as we take a trip to visit the Squamish Shaker Church and join its congregants for a night of community, music, worship, and feasting.

The Indian Shaker Church is an Indigenous religion that began in 1882 near the town of Shelton, Washington. Today, there are several of these congregations active in the Pacific Northwest. Their unique belief system combines Christian and Coast Salish spiritual traditions. For more information on the Shaker Church and the ministry of Eugene Harry, click here.

If you plan on attending the event, please bring a dish that can be shared with others during the service (sandwiches or low-sugar desserts are suggested). Please also consider bringing earplugs, as the event features handbells, which can be quite loud. If you require a ride to the event, email Joe at jvcatlin@gmail.com or Marion at spirit89@shaw.ca.

Event Details:

Date and Time: April 20, 7:00pm to 11:00pm

Location: 104 Mathias Road in West Vancouver
