The office at Lynn Valley United Church in North Vancouver is the hub of activity for this vibrant and growing Christian community. A new, full-time position has been developed to ensure the smooth operation of all office functions to equip the congregation for its growth. The Manager of Office Operations manages, supervises and oversees all office functions which include:

  • member and adherent relationship systems;
  • a program in which volunteers are engaged, organized, trained and thanked;
  • external and internal communication and social media;
  • clerical support and reception;
  • facilities being well maintained with effective processes for allocating space, room use contracts, and custodial supervision.   

The ideal candidate will have 5 – 10 years progressive experience in office administration in a multi-faceted, volunteer-run and supported non-profit organization; training and experience in Customer Service Management Systems; training and experience in communication media – advertising, copywriting, social media, website; advanced knowledge/use of Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Outlook; volunteer coordination/leadership, and experience in building systems and trades supervision.  

The ideal candidate will have skills managing and balancing this work in the time allotted. He or she will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity for positive interaction with a variety of customers and members. Adept at taking initiative, working independently as well as within a team, with open and hospitable communication with clear personal boundaries, the Manager of Office Operations will work within a flexible schedule, will establish and maintain internal processes, and build and maintain positive working relationships within the whole organization.   

This role reports to the Lead Minister and is guided by LVUC Ministry/Mission priorities, Core Values, and Organizational polices. This is a full-time position – 35-40 hours per week at $22/hour.
