It is finished!
As the students head back to school here in Vancouver, a renewed excitment arises to celebrate and show you the Building Hope Project that Lynn Valley United was so privileged to be a part of.
The tiny village of Chwitziribal has a brand new school thanks to so many donors here in Canada, and hundreds of local workers, volunteers, parents and community leaders in Guatemala. A partnership that has completely transformed both communities.
See the BUILDING HOPE website for pictures and video excerpts of the grand opening ceremony and visits from St Andrew's Wesley and Highlands this spring and summer -soon to have photos added from a visit from Lynn Valley- the Lower Mainland United churches that embarked on this transformational project over the past 2 years.
But it's not over... a special bond with this community has been forged and the affection for the children, teachers and villagers will continue long after the adobe dries and the school settles into its regular routine. Deep gratitude and abundant blessing intermingle in a life affirming dance of thanks-giving.
And if you are moved to see the fruits of this labour, there is an opportunity to travel to Guatemala in the spring of 2020 to bear witness to what love and compassion in action can achieve. Speak with Blair Odney ([email protected]) or Eric Hamlyn ([email protected]) for more information or to register.
