A message from Rev. Debra Bowman:

We are delighted that Artemis is offering this yoga practice which enables us to live out our mission of deepening spiritual practices and offering care to the community in this anxious time.

Yoga On the Labyrinth - please note - all classes will be online via Zoom.

This October we are pleased to continue to offer yoga classes with Artemis Calogeros in the Sanctuary.  Artemis is a member of our congregation and the owner of The Yoga Root, a small award-winning yoga studio that offers slower, mindful yoga to improve physical fitness, ease tension and soothe anxiety.  The classes will be offered both at the sanctuary and online via Zoom.

10:30-11:30am Saturdays: Restorative & Mindful Movement Take some time to slow down & rest. The class is designed to help you relax through poses that calm the nervous system. This class will intermix gentle movements with the breath and restorative yoga postures. Moving through gentle postures helps prepare the body for stillness, inviting a restful experience as students settle in restorative postures. Restorative poses are held for five minutes or more, providing an opportunity for silence and meditation in each pose. You will leave class with a more resilient nervous system to better allow you to handle the stressors of daily life. This restorative practice will be adapted to using props that you have on hand. If possible, please bring two large towels or blankets and a pillow. Open to all levels. Beginners welcome.

7:00-8:00pm Sundays: Flow and Restore  This class has the best of both worlds - movement and rest! You can expect a slow, gentle flow through a series of postures that will strengthen and stretch the body. Move with your breath, play, and challenge yourself during the first half of class, and then allow yourself to find stillness during the latter half of class. Please note that there will be no Yoga session for 17 October, 2020.
