Discrimination is the unfair or prejudicial treatment of people and groups based on characteristics such as race, gender, age, or sexual orientation.  However, explaining why it happens is more complicated.

Sometimes, even we do not know that we discriminate against others or are not aware of our biases.  In affirming community, questions and conversation on discrimination are even more stark.  All eyes are on us; the expectation is there; it has been communicated and must be fulfilled.

In John 10, is narrated a conversation of Jesus sharing an inclusive message.  In it he noted that there are people not in the fold -- God's kin-dom -- and they too need to be included.  How do we understand Jesus' call in our contemporary context is a question to explore.

Join us as we explore the theme of discrimination and partake of the Holy Communion.
