OPENING OUR HEARTS TO RECONCILIATION
KAIROS BLANKET EXERCISE

September 30 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 1:00-4:00

The work of reconciliation is not just about learning; it is also about feeling.  The Kairos Blanket Exercise is designed to help people open their hearts as well as their minds. We held this event a few years ago but it is timely to do it again. (If you participated before, know that it will be a different facilitator and you may find yourself with new insights.)

The date is Friday, September 30 at LVUC from 1:00 to 4:00. (This is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation; you may have it off work depending on where you work.)  We will be serving refreshments.  This is a major undertaking by the LVUC Social Justice and Outreach Team and to make it happen, we will need a lot of volunteer support.

Can you do any of the following:
 Lend us a barbecue
 Barbecue salmon for a crowd (say 30-40)
 Try your cooking skills at bannock
 Contribute a fruit tray
 Contribute hummus and vegetable tray
 Set up the sanctuary for the program (move chairs)
 Set up serving and eating space
 Serve food
 Kitchen duty: tea/coffee/juice
 Kitchen duty: clearing and washing up
 And other things as they come up!

Cash donations are very welcome!
There are still spots available to attend this “by donation” event although we have now opened up the opportunity to participate to other community members. Who do you know who would benefit from this experience?
