The Annual General Meeting is a celebration of the year that was (well, still is, as the fiscal year runs July 1 to June 30), holds elections for Board members and church officers (nominations are now open if you are interested!), ratifies the decision making of the Board of Governance, which includes adopting new and amending policies that the Board uses when making those decisions all the while being sure to love on the awesome volunteers that make LVUC a dynamic and inclusive community of faith. A budget is also prepared as a planning tool for next year, and membership votes that into action. And there may even be an opportunity to share stories of ministry and share in a meal together... that's a lot going on in 2 hours!!

To prepare the congregation with the details, background and information needed to inform voting, there are several events and documents to pay attention to.

A Policy Forum was held to go through amendments brought before the Board by the Policy Committee through 2021/2022- if you were unable to attend, two documents below detail the motions made and provide a summary. Ratification of the ammendments and a vote on the updated Bylaw will be included in the AGM, so members are asked to review these documents.

A Budget Forum  was held to explain the intention and allocation of spending and anticipated income for the 2022/2023 operational year. Our Governance structure states that only a balanced budget can presented for vote and details are not published in the format presented to the congregation due to confidentiality of some information. If you would like information on the budget, please be in touch with the church office

The Annual Report is currently under construction and a link to a digital version will be available very soon, as will the Agenda for the meeting.

Minutes of the 2021 AGM are available by clicking on the link below (these were approved/ adopted at the Sept 8 regular meeting of the Board of Governance).

If you have any questions, be in touch with the office or pop an email off to Wendy Harris (Chair) or Rev Franklyn James.
