Some of you may have seen the letter from Blair Odney (LVUC's lead minister) on behalf of the Pacific Mountain Region (CLICK HERE to see the letter online) in response to the Christchurch, New Zealand mosque tragedy, This senseless, unimaginable act of violence reminds us that peace is not possible when even one does not have peace... and though our hearts are broken, our faith is not.
Blair also extended a letter to the BC Muslim Association, and has asked that the response be shared - so here it is:
Assalaamu Alaykum (peace be unto you)
Thank you for writing and showing your concern with regard to the terrorist attacks perpetrated on innocent worshippers in Christchurch, New Zealand.
We are as well deeply shocked and saddened by the heinous attacks on the two mosques that has so far left 50 dead and many injured. Our hearts are heavy with sadness for the innocent lives lost and the families devastated with these hateful attacks. We pray for the quick recovery of those injured and patience to the families who lost their loved ones.
We should all continue to stand strong to our faiths, our communities and our country.
