White is the colour of Christ.  Therefore the Banner and drapes for Easter and Christmas are all white. On the Banner there is a crocus. The crocus, a bulb, symbol of new life, resurrection. Purple is the Lenten colour, the colour of struggling in the wilderness looking for meaning in our lives. On Easter, the purple and struggle of Lent is transformed into new life with the Resurrection of Christ. Surrounding the purple crocus blossom are green leaves.  Green is the colour of Common time, God’s colour. The Resurrection of the Son is held by the Father.  At the top of the crocus there is a glimpse of gold.  The gold reminds us of the Star over Bethlehem. Birth, Life and Death and Rebirth. Always going back to the beginning to start over.  This is the message of the Gospel. With each new breath, there is the opportunity for new Life in Christ.
