Today, the world is inundated with fear and anxiety. People are fearful of losing their job, their homes, their loved ones, and even the power to control others and situations. These fears are genuine, however, people of faith are being called to take a different stance in regard to fear. Matthew 26:24-33 tells us that God will take care of you, so you can take care of God’s justice in the world. The passage highlighted to us that there is more to life than concern for daily needs. This reality may be difficult for some of us. But Jesus expects his followers to put forward energy into things that give more meaning to life. We must strive to discern how God is working in the world and how to participate in acts of justice on God’s behalf. Beyond that, everything else will take care of itself. To summarize Jesus’ words ‘God will deal with the rest.”

Join us this Sunday as we look at worry in the context of faith in the divine.
