Black Lives Matter has brought to the forefront of the centuries of injustice and oppression that black people have experienced since times of enslavement and up until the present. And yet, they persist to insist on their place at the table. This Sunday we will hear from gospel, jazz, and soul singer Dawn Pemberton about how black music gives voice to not only injustice, oppression, but also hope, and the capacity for resistance. Pianist Matt Grinke will accompany Dawn and offer his gifts of beautiful improvisation.
