Friday Night Live

Friday Night Live

Life. Unscripted.

You live without a script- how entertaining would it be if everything was like that?!

Friday Night Live is a weekly show that lets people of all ages connect as community through the lens of performing arts, celebrating the interconnectedness of us all.

Lynn Valley United Church, has contracted with Ad Libretto, a troupe of professional actors who specialize in music and comedy improvisation, (Alan Marriott, Artistic Director) to offer this weekly exploration of "living in the moment" -  kind of spiritual practice akin to meditation, except that participants enjoy the wonder of seeing their own stories and suggestions in the unfolding skits  and "altered consciousness" is achieved through laughter, humour, and music.
The show is not religious in nature, but each week is centered around a positive and uplifting theme.  All performances are family friendly.
A special guest joins the AdLibretto cast each week - singers, musicians, story-tellers, actors, composers... offering their varied talents, along with a brief interview exploring inspiration, challenges, and other insights into artistic life.
Admission is $10 (kids under 12 are free, and group/student discounts are available by contacting the church office). Doors open at 7pm for the 7:30 show for a chance to grab a complimentary coffee from our friends at Lynn Valley Waves and (while it lasts) a slice of pizza from Boston Pizza on Marine Drive. Wine is available for purchase at some shows, but due to regulations is only offered twice a month.
While the church is undergoing a property redevelopment (until the fall of 2016), most shows will be held in the Community Room at Lynn Valley Public Librabry (affectionately called "the Cube") at 1277 Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver. A plethora of shopping and dining opportunities are available before or after the show- make a night of it!

As with many arts programs, the price of admission does not fully recover the cost of the production of the show.  Lynn Valley United Church and sponsor this program, as well as a number of community businesses, groups and individuals.  If you would like to be a sponsor or support the production team by volunteering, we'd love to hear from you!
