Labyrinth - Walking in community
October 4, 2017
Walking the labyrinth, in my experience, can be deeply meditative. There's something about the act of walking and following the path that allows me to open to deep reflection. It's a kind of solitary journey that opens space deep inside.
While the internal journey is solitary, there is also something particularly powerful about walking the labyrinth with others. It is a deep experience of self in community that opens different kinds of reflections. The addition of music adds another element.
LVUC will be hosting weekly Wednesday Labyrinth Walking events beginning October 11. Each week of the month will have a slightly different focus.
October 11, and on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, we will host a morning walk between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
October 18, and on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, we will host an evening walk between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. with live music.
scatteNovember 4, and on the 1st Wednesday of each month, we will host an afternoon walk from 1:30 - 3 p.m. with traditional and familiar hymns played on the piano.
The labyrinth is available for walking Tuesday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or call the office to see if we're open. There is an evening walk at 7 p.m. every Wednesday following Contemplative Prayer.
